Our Goal is to provide Healthcare Access to Everyone
The growth of AI has provided the world a unique opportunity to democratize healthcare access.
Large parts of the globe are terribly underserved from a healthcare perspective. A scarcity of doctors, long distances to clinics and hospitals, lack of facilities – these are exacerbated by the lack of access to timely, relevant health information.
Our goal is to solve for these challenges – starting in sub-Saharan Africa (where the problems are most stark) and eventually deploying globally.
A Mozambican and US Joint Venture
APOIO is the flagship product developed by Galenica. Galenica was formed as part of a vision of the founders to collectively use the transformative power of AI for the good of society as a whole, and for Mozambique and Africa in particular.
We identified Healthcare access as an area that could be vastly improved using technology. Endemic problems like poverty, low literacy rates, infrastructure challenges, and political instability contribute to low life expectancy and poor health outcomes. This in turn leads to a vicious cycle of low productivity and poor economic prospects.
APOIO was created to improve population health outcomes with greater access to care & services. It will bridging the gap by providing a 24/7 resource for urban and rural communities in the region.
